Emotional Support

Cancer Support Community offers emotional support through support groups, informal connection groups, and individual short-term counseling – all offered free of charge.  Check out the program calendar to see the dates and times for upcoming emotional support programs, as well as other group details, and facilitator information.  For privacy reasons, links for emotional support programs are not listed on the online calendar.  Contact Cancer Support Community to learn more and see if a support group is right for you.

Support groups provide an opportunity for people with shared experiences to connect, share resources, and develop healthy coping strategies.  All support groups are led by licensed mental health professionals.

Our current support group offerings include:

Blood Cancer Connections Survivors, family, friends, and caregivers are welcome to join for a networking support group that provides discussion and education for treatment and survivorship for all types of blood cancers.

Bosom Buddies (Breast Cancer) Focused on people with a breast cancer diagnosis at any stage and during any phase of survivorship, this group connects breast cancer survivors with others that share a similar experience and can help to provide empowerment throughout your cancer experience.

Cancer Support Group  A cancer diagnosis of any kind can feel scary and confusing.  Discover the comfort of participating in a group where you can meet others going through similar experiences. Find support and enjoy a safe understanding place to share among your peers. ALL cancer survivors welcome!

Friends and Family Connections  Family members, friends and caregivers can find connection and practice self-care and balance during challenging times. This virtual support group is a place to share personal experiences, concerns and encouragement to each other as they care for a loved one with cancer.

GYN Cancer Support Connection and encouragement are important for those that have been diagnosed with cancer of the reproductive system. This is a supportive group of women coming together to encourage, support, and help focus on the benefits of connecting with others who are going through similar experiences.

Metastatic Breast Cancer Group Learn how to reduce anxiety and manage uncertainty while connecting with other Montanans living with metastatic/ stage IV breast cancer.

Prostate Connection This networking group is for men that have experienced a prostate cancer diagnosis at any stage. This group provides an opportunity to discuss information and learn more about survivorship.


Informal Connection Groups are a networking group providing opportunity for connection, information sharing, and discussion for cancer survivors with a shared experience.

Our current informal connection groups include:

Men’s Connection This casual meeting provides an opportunity for men to connect with other men going through a similar cancer experience.  All male cancer survivors welcome!

Young Women’s Connection Women under the age of 50 who are diagnosed with cancer, at any stage of treatment are welcome to join this networking group providing information and discussion.
